There are many issues and challenges in commercial real estate that present themselves every day. NAIOP Northern Nevada is a resource in addressing these through online forums, formal training classes and presentations designed to answer the questions and support the success of its members.
Webinars are 1.5 hour education sessions delivered via the Internet. They are designed to present compact, highly focused, one-time session topics on emerging industry trends and current market issues. These interactive sessions allow participants to discuss the topics with the presenter(s) during Q & A segments. The following webinars have been offered free to our members:

NAIOP Northern Nevada is one of the principal learning resources for commercial real estate professionals. Our courses are based on NAIOP core competencies and the national body of knowledge that supports practical workplace applications. Government Affairs
NAIOP Northern Nevada is the "voice" of the commercial real estate community with regard to all legislative and local government matters that could have an impact on the industry.
Chapter Legislative Activities
- NAIOP works with the City of Reno Enterprise Fund to
manage permit fees/costs and encourage consolidation of
the Reno/Sparks County services
- NAIOP works to manage the effects of RTC Road Impact
Fees for Washoe County
- NAIOP is involved with all of the regions Concurrency
Issues in order to minimize the impact to future development
- NAIOP maintains a presence in Carson City during the
legislative sessions and works closely with NAIOP Southern
Nevada to oversee legislation supporting positive
change and aggressively fighting negative impacts NAIOP's
member business
- NAIOP co-sponsors fundraisers for political candidates that understand what is necessary for business in northern
Nevada to succeed
- NAIOP has an established PAC (Political Action
Committee) to represent the interests of the development
community in northern Nevada
- NAIOP leadership participates in the national legislative
conference in Washington DC, visiting "the hill" to correspond
with Nevada's elected officials on industry specific issues
Developing Leaders
NAIOP's Developing Leaders (DL) is a program geared specifically for all professionals age 35 and under. Your membership entitles you to participate in our extensive network, gain instant access to the latest industry news and enjoy unparalleled networking opportunities. We provide the tools and resources you need to gain that competitive edge. For those ready to connect with their peers nationwide and gain instant access to local leaders of the industry, participation in the DL program is a no-brainer!
The DLs in Northern Nevada have monthly mixers at the Biggest Little City Club in downtown Reno. This intimate venue provides the opportunity to get up close and personal with the owners of businesses in our region who lead our commercial real estate industry. Recent presenters include:

Events, Programs and Networking
Successful real estate owners and developers rely heavily on assembling a high-quality team of architects, engineers, contractors, sub-contractors, brokers, bankers, title companies, and other consultants. NAIOP Northern Nevada provides opportunities for each of these disciplines to come together with the owners and developers of commercial real estate to share opportunities, information and support. Our local chapter works to maximize networking while providing value to each and every member through our busy annual calendar of events and programs that include:
- Quarterly lunch events with such platforms as legislative
forums (Previews and Reviews), economic financial forecasts,
education forums, economic development debates, and
programs that provide insight and information on the industries
and trends behind the continued expansion or relocation of
firms to our region
- Quarterly social mixers / activities that include March
Madness, Oktoberfest and our annual Holiday event
- The annual CCIM/CREW/NAIOP Summit Awards that
recognizes excellence in our industry on a regional level
- The annual CREW & NAIOP Charity Golf Tournament generates thousands of dollars for our
Political Action Committee and other legislative activities throughout the year
- The annual NAIOP Bus Tour that attracts professional across the region interested to learn about and
personally experience what is happening in our community
